In order to ensure the development of the neighbourhood, the presence of people in the district needs to be encouraged. The Barona Street quarter must become the centre of this universe. A magnet and anchor site at the attractive end of Tērbatas Street. This can be achieved with attractive and eclectic construction. In place of the existing impasses, we will form diagonal passages, making it possible to get from Tērbatas Street to Artilērijas Street and Barona Street, and from Barona Street to the park due to be established in accordance with the RHC plan, which could connect the quarter to the New Ģertrūdes Church on Brīvības Street.
Vitality can be achieved through the creation of a social and functional mix, ensuring activities in the quarter for all age groups so that it is fully complete and self-sufficient. Here, one can live, eat, work, rest, enjoy culture and art, regardless of one’s age, social status and level of income.
